Interface mode between energy storage connector circuit boards


The interface mode between energy storage connector circuit boards is different, and its types are also different, and each type has its own characteristics. The following is a brief introduction to these aspects:


1. Pin header and female header/pin header. Female header and pin header are relatively cheap and common interface methods, and their application areas: low-end, large-scale smart products, development boards, debugging boards, etc.;


Advantages: cheap and cost-effective, convenient, strong hard connection, strong overcurrent capacity, conducive to wire bonding and detection;


Disadvantages: large size, not easy to bend, large spacing, hundreds of pins cannot be connected (too large).


2. Some board-to-board connectors are used for compact products, with higher density than pin headers. Application areas: widely used, and basic smart hardware products are basically in use.


Advantages: small size, large number of pins, 1 cm can be used for 40 pins (the same specification can only be used for 20 pins).


Disadvantages: The overall design must be fixed and is expensive and cannot be plugged and unplugged frequently.


3. Thickened board-to-board connector, which can be assembled, disassembled and inserted on the pin header. Application scenarios: test boards, development boards, large fixed equipment (such as main chassis wiring). Advantages: It is cheap and common to use with pins, and it is very convenient to measure the connection. Disadvantages: It is not easy to repair, large in size, and not suitable for mass production scenarios.


4. FPC connector plug/ZIF connector. Many smart products and equipment need to pull data signals from the motherboard, and FPC is small, flexible, and has various shapes, which is a good choice. Application scenarios: circuit bending, motherboard and external device connection, auxiliary board and motherboard connection, product space is tight. Advantages: small and cheap.

1. Energy storage connector plug threaded connection method


This is a connection method often used in some connector plugs with larger contact sizes and working in strong vibration environments. This connection method can be installed with a fuse or nut to prevent loosening after the connection is completed. This connection method is reliable to use, but the connection and disconnection speed is slow.


2. Energy storage connector plug bayonet connection method


This is a reliable and fast connection and separation method. Most electrical connectors with a card 121 connection method have a visual display of correct connection and locking, which can be observed from the small hole on the side of the electrical connector connection nut.

3. Energy storage connector plug-in connection method


This is a multi-purpose connection method. When connecting and disconnecting, the plug and socket of the electrical connector usually move in a reciprocating linear motion, without twisting and rotating, and only a small working space is needed to complete the connection and disconnection. Common plug-in connections have two structures: ball or pin. Because this connection method does not have a mechanical labor-saving mechanism, once it is mis-inserted, the mechanical resistance increases significantly and can be discovered in time.


4 Energy storage connector plug cabinet connection method


This is an electrical connector used on some equipment that needs to be blindly connected close to the frame, which can make the electrical equipment lighter, smaller, easier to maintain and more reliable. This connection method makes it impossible for the operator to feel the connection, and a precise positioning device must be designed to avoid forcing the mis-inserted connector plugs to be connected together, making mis-insertion impossible. The connector plug usually adopts a floating or elastic contact design structure to ensure its correct connection.

Many people think that there are too many types of energy storage connectors and the manufacturing process should be different. In fact, the manufacturing process of energy storage connectors is basically the same, which can be divided into four manufacturing processes: stamping, electroplating, injection molding, and assembly.


1. Stamping


Stamping is to use a large high-speed stamping machine to stamp the electronic energy storage connector (pin) from a thin metal strip. One end of the large roll of metal strip is fed into the front end of the stamping machine, and the other end passes through the hydraulic workbench of the stamping machine and is wound into the take-up wheel. The take-up wheel pulls out the metal strip and rolls it up to stamp out the finished terminal.


2. Electroplating


After the energy storage connector pin is stamped, it should be sent to the electroplating stage. During the electroplating stage, the electronic contact surface of the energy storage connector will be plated with various metal coatings, nickel plating, tin plating, and semi-gold plating to prevent oxidation and enhance conductivity. In the process of sending the stamped pins into the electroplating equipment, the pins will also be twisted, broken or deformed. These quality defects can be easily detected by the above technology.


3. Injection molding


Injection molding refers to the plastic box seat of the electronic energy storage connector being formed by injecting molten plastic into a metal tire film and then rapidly cooling it.


Also pay attention to detecting "leaks" (Short Shots) when the molten plastic does not completely fill the film, which is a typical defect that needs to be detected during the injection molding stage. Other defects include full or partial blockage of the socket (these sockets must be kept clean and unobstructed to properly connect with the pins during final assembly).


4. Assembly


The final stage of the manufacture of electronic energy storage connectors is the assembly of the finished product. There are two ways to connect the electroplated pins to the injection molded box seat: the first is to insert them individually, that is, to insert one pin at a time;


The second is a combined combination plug, which means that multiple pins are connected to the box socket at the same time. Regardless of the connection method used for assembly, ensure that all pins are not missing and must be positioned correctly.
